Pizzato Legno Chardonnay £29.75 per bottle
The Pizzato family has cultivated vines for over 100 years. Their initial plantings were brought over by Antonio Pizzato in 1875 from his native Italy. For many years their wine was sold to other wineries until Antonio''s grandson, Plinio Pizzato founded the Pizzato Winery in 1999 with his four children. With a solid experience in grape-growing, their objective is to make world class, estate grown and bottled wines. Pizzato owns 45 hectares of prime vineyards located in the Serra Gaúcha region, home to 85% of Brazil''s wine production. The area makes up the Gaucho Highlands, a mountainous region in the northeastern portion of Rio Grande do Sul state in southern Brazil. The grapes are grown in 2 sub-regions, Vale dos Vinhedos and Dois Lajeados, and they are 100% cultivated by Pizzato family winegrowers. The family uses traditional principles and modern day technology to create quality wines with well-defined personalities under two labels - Pizzato and Fausto.
